Refund Policy

At The Reading Studio, we value the time and commitment of both our families and our tutor. This Refund Policy explains how cancellations, rescheduling, and refunds are handled for tutoring services.
1. Tutoring Sessions
Tutoring sessions are reserved specifically for each student. Because appointment times are held exclusively for the student, completed tutoring sessions are generally non-refundable.
2. Cancellations and Rescheduling
We understand that unexpected circumstances can arise. If you need to cancel or reschedule a tutoring session, please provide at least 24 hours' notice.
Sessions cancelled with at least 24 hours' notice may be rescheduled or credited toward a future session, depending on availability.
Cancellations made with less than 24 hours' notice and missed sessions may be charged at the full session rate.
Emergencies and exceptional circumstances will be considered individually and at the discretion of The Reading Studio.
3. Tutor Cancellations
If The Reading Studio needs to cancel a scheduled session, we will make reasonable efforts to reschedule the session at a mutually convenient time.
If the session cannot be rescheduled, any payment made specifically for that cancelled session will be refunded or credited, according to the family's preference when reasonably possible.
4. Initial Consultation
The initial 30-minute consultation is complimentary and therefore is not eligible for a monetary refund.
If you are unable to attend your scheduled consultation, please provide notice when possible so that another time can be arranged.
5. Technical Difficulties
Online tutoring depends on internet connectivity, devices, and third-party technology.
If significant technical difficulties prevent a tutoring session from taking place or substantially interfere with the session, The Reading Studio will work with the family to determine an appropriate solution, which may include rescheduling or a partial/full credit when appropriate.
Minor technical interruptions that do not substantially affect the session do not automatically qualify for a refund.
6. Refund Requests
If you believe you are entitled to a refund under this policy, please contact The Reading Studio with:

Reason for the refund request
Refund requests will be reviewed according to this policy and applicable law.
Approved refunds will generally be returned to the original payment method. Processing times may vary depending on the payment provider or financial institution.
7. Exceptions
The Reading Studio understands that individual circumstances vary. We reserve the right to make reasonable exceptions to this policy when circumstances warrant.
Any exception granted in one situation does not create an obligation to grant the same exception in the future.
8. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Refund Policy from time to time to reflect changes to our services, pricing, scheduling practices, or applicable requirements.
The updated policy will be posted on this page with a revised “Last Updated” date.
